LIBERTY – Batteries have been shipped from the Toyota Battery Manufacturing plant in Liberty.
It’s another milestone for the growing facility at the Greensboro-Randolph megasite.
The first shipment was heading to Mazda Toyota Manufacturing for the Toyota Corolla Cross in Huntsville, Alabama.
This put the plant on target with an initial projection that production would begin 2025. There was groundbreaking on the construction project in 2021.
It’s expected that batteries for hybrid-electric vehicles intended for Camrys will be shipped to Georgetown, Kentucky by September.
