RANDLEMAN – The Piedmont Athletic Conference championship in football will be decided Friday night when Eastern Randolph visits Randleman.
This is the third year of the current configuration of the PAC, with Eastern Randolph the two-time champion and unbeaten in 14 league games.
Randleman is trying to finish an undefeated regular season for the fourth time in a six-season stretch.
The Wildcats (8-1 overall, 4-0 PAC) have been dominant again this year. They’re unscored upon in conference games with five shutouts overall.
Randleman (9-0, 4-0) is the second-highest scoring team in league games behind Eastern Randolph, averaging 40 points per game. The Tigers have scored 350 points in all tames this season – 10 more than Eastern Randolph.
Trinity (4-5, 1-3) will try to move into a third-place tie with Southwestern Randolph (6-3, 2-2).
If Trinity wins, there could be a three-way, third-place tie as Providence Grove (5-4, 1-3) would join that list by defeating Wheatmore (2-7, 0-4).
In the Mid-Piedmont Conference, Asheboro (1-8, 0-4) is trying to avoid a fourth straight winless league record when traveling to Montgomery Central (3-6, 0-4).
