Asheboro site among venues for youth soccer tournament

A major youth soccer tournament this week in the Triad is using an Asheboro facility as one of its venues.

Zoo City Sportsplex is among the locations for games, which will take place Friday through Sunday as part of the Adidas Clash.

There are boys’ and girls’ divisions from ages 8-and-under through 16-and-under. There are 355 boys’ teams and 202 girls’ teams listed as participating.

Organizers said that 88 fields will be used in the tournament. Most of those are in Guilford County.
