High school practices for fall sports to begin soon
Teams in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association can begin practices for the fall season next week.
The first day for official practices is Wednesday. Many teams have been holding offseason workouts for the past couple of months, though the week concluding this weekend has been a dark period for NCHSAA members.
Fall sports are cross country, football, girls’ golf, boys’ soccer, girls’ tennis and volleyball.
Competition against outside opponents can begin Aug. 11 with the exception of football, which has an opening date of Aug. 22. Football teams can hold scrimmages prior to that.
