Prep boys: Asheboro tops Eastern Randolph; Providence Grove edges Southwestern Randolph
Here’s a look at some boys’ basketball results from last week involving Randolph County teams:
Nirey White pumped in 21 points and Zak Blackwell had 13 points in Asheboro’s 74-37 victory at Eastern Randolph.
** Randleman fell 58-45 at High Point Central in a Piedmont Athletic Conference game despite Trey Burnett’s 13 points.
The Tigers ended the week with a 60-59 setback at Lexington in another PAC game.

** Providence Grove notched its second-one point victory vs. Southwestern Randolph this season, winning 60-59 on the road with Gabe McKoy supplying 20 points and Will Dabbs scoring 17. The Patriots overcame a 10-point deficit despite Kenan Sugg finished with 20 points for Southwestern Randolph.
** Levi Dalke and Trivett Kennedy each had 13 points when visiting Southwestern Randolph defeated Trinity 60-35.
** Tyler Gee’s 32 points weren’t enough in Eastern Randolph’s 66-60 road loss to Chatham Central.
** Wheatmore’s Avery Ivey compiled 17 points in a 56-53 road victory against Forbush.
Jordan-Matthews topped visiting Wheatmore 57-43 despite Ivey’s 20 points.
** Providence Grove’s 83-80 victory at Southern Guilford included 24 points apiece from Will Dabbs and Andrew Thomas and 15 points from Gabe McKoy. That result gave the Patriots a three-game winning streak.
** North Stanly defeated visiting Uwharrie Charter Academy 48-39.
