Prep wrestling: UCA, Trinity keep rolling; other tournament results

ASHEBORO — The Uwharrie Charter Academy wrestling team racked up eight more victories in dual meets, this time in home competition.
The Eagles were dominant in the Pin Down Autism Super Duals on Friday and Saturday at UCA, where 11 teams were involved.
UCA defeated Eastern Randolph 65-9 and also posted victories against Albemarle, Athens Drive, Northern Guilford, Alleghany, New Bern, Southern Lee and North Rowan.
Andrew White and Lorenzo Alston both went 8-0, while Caleb Saldana, Brennan Worrell and Travis Nobles won all seven of their matches and Huntley Adcock and Michael Shropshire were unbeaten in six bouts. Ric Riccardella and Jesse Bowles had 7-1 record and Paxton Kearns was 6-1.
Eastern Randolph went 5-3, with victories against Albemarle, North Rowan, Southern Lee, Alleghany and Northern Guilford. David Lambright of the Wildcats won eight times, while teammate Maddox Carson went 7-1.
Sharpe Invitational
Trinity had three individual titles to secure a team championship by a wide margin in the fifth annual tournament at Mooresville.
Stephen Cross at 120 pounds, Edgar Vasquez at 126 and Joseph Trajan at heavyweight were Trinity’s champions.
Cross pinned Piedmont’s Lucas Belk in 2:53 for the title, Vasquez won 7-1 against Mitchell’s Bryson McFalls and Trahan’s third pin of the day came in 1:30 against West Rowan’s Bryson Ellis.
Aiden Burkholder (113), Hezekyah Matson (138) and Addam Bernal (157) were runners-up for the Bulldogs, while Jeven Palmeri (106), Omega Edge (132) and Grayson Carroll (190) placed third.
Burkholder fell 16-9 to Piedmont’s Jaxon Thomas in the final, Matson lost via technical fall to Tye Johnson of Cape Fear and Bernal was pinned in the third period by South Caldwell’s Mason Hollar.
The Bulldogs scored 203½ points to runner-up West Rowan’s 144 ½ in the 12-team event.
Crosby Invitational
Wheatmore’s Ayden Sumners and Dominic Hittepole won individual titles in the annual tournament at Greensboro Dudley.
Sumners was unscored upon in three 132-pound matches, with a pair of pins and a third-period technical fall against Southeast Guilford’s Kenneth Thomas in the title bout
None of Hittepole’s four 190-pound matches went the distance, including his pin of Greensboro Dudley’s Devin Cotton in 3:08 of the final. Hittepole won the tournament’s title at 175 pounds last year.
Greensboro Dudley won with 186 points, with runner-up Eden Morehead at 174 in the 20-team field. Wheatmore was sixth at 102.
Wheatmore’s Spencer Moore placed fourth at 144 with a 2-2 record and two pins. Heavyweight Maddox Russo of the Warriors had two first-period pins but didn’t place by going 2-2.
Aiden Poplin (126) of Providence Grove was fourth with a 4-2 record that included two pins and a major decision. Teammate Jeremiah Payne (120) recorded three technical falls but didn’t place.
Cougars Duals
Asheboro and Southwestern Randolph both went 1-2 in competition Saturday at Southwestern Randolph. The victories for both teams came against Salisbury.
Falcon Duals
Randleman went 3-3 in the event at North Carolina Leadership Academy, beating Walkertown, North Carolina Leadership Academy and Oak Grove. The losses came to High Point Christian, Wesleyan Christian and East Wilks.
Alex Raymundo, Lloy Bosan and David Pugh were 6-0 for the Tigers, while teammates Hunter Hall and Landon Hunter were 5-1.
