The Pharmacy Craft Cocktails and Distilling opened last week – an adjacent gathering location under the same ownership. “These are two separate businesses,” events manager Sam Baker said. “We’re providing two vastly different experiences.” The Pharmacy will be geared toward a more sophisticated, adult crowd. ASHEBORO – Klaussner Furniture Industries, which once had been the largest employer in Randolph County, is shutting down operations at all its facilities, the company announced Monday. The company was tightly tied to Asheboro, which housed its corporate headquarters. According to a news release: “Klaussner’s lending source has unexpectedly refused to continue to fund the Company’s operations. This outcome was not reasonably foreseeable, but due to these unexpected circumstances, Klaussner can no longer sustain its operations.” There will be more than 800 job losses, with a majority of those connected to Asheboro and Randolph County, based on some reports. ASHEBORO – The Taco Loco is back serving customers after the popular Mexican restaurant in downtown Asheboro was closed in various fashions for more than three months following a busted pipe. The Taco Logo should be operating with a complete menu Monday. “We’re excited to be opened back up,” restaurant manager Jackie Munoz said Saturday. The re-opening began late-afternoon Friday with the sale of tacos only. “We were slammed,” Munoz said. For the weekend, a limited menu is in place. The restaurant at 138 Sunset Ave. announced April 4 that the dining area would be closed until further notice. The…
