A call received by Asheboro Police Department at 9:21 a.m. claimed bombs were inside the school and the call also claimed to be armed with a weapon with the intent to enter the school. Search warrant leads to drug trafficking arrest in Asheboro

The Asheboro Police Department executed a search warrant at the Park Place apartment complex on S. Church Street this past week, which resulted in one arrest for drug trafficking. According to a police report, the department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant and seized 15.1 grams of white power that field-tested positive as fentanyl, 22.4 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and over $700 dollars in cash. Tierra Meyon Johnson was arrested and charged with several felony drug charges, including the trafficking of opium/heroin. Asheboro police patrol vehicles targeted in vandalism

Several patrol vehicles which belong to the Asheboro Police Department were vandalized with spray paint over the weekend. Police say that the patrol vehicles in the lot were spare vehicles and that the Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating the case. At this time, no information on a suspect(s) or a motive has been released.
