RAMSEUR – A student was found with a firearm at Eastern Randolph High School on Friday, deputies said. The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that a school resource officer received a report that a student had a gun on campus. The school resource officer found the student, and a search of the student led to the officer confiscating the gun. The firearm was secured without incident. Chicago police: 100 shot, 18 homicides over holiday weekend

CHICAGO — One hundred people — including two police officers — were shot in Chicago over the long Fourth of July weekend, including 18 homicides, the city’s police department said Tuesday. Among those injured were at least a dozen children. None of them had died as of Tuesday morning, but at least three of the minors were in critical condition.
