Asheboro Police charge three in Veterans Day killing

ASHEBORO – Charges have been filed against three men in connection with a with a November homicide in the city. Nearly six months to the day following the shooting death of David Matthew Davis, arrests were made as part of a murder investigation. Police had said that Davis’ death stemmed from an armed robbery of 64 Skillz. Police say they’ve charged Victor Austin Jr., 34, and Emilio Alston, 34, with first-degree murder. ASHEBORO – A vehicle linked to a homicide investigation in Asheboro was located in Durham, based on information from the Asheboro Police Department. A Navy veteran was killed in a Veterans Day shooting. Two suspects, described as male, remain at large as of the beginning of this week. David Matthew Davis, 39, died inside 64 Skillz, based on an initial police report.
