ASHEBORO – Four arrests have been made and charges filed involving vehicle break-ins this month at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA. Asheboro Police announced the developments that involved multiple police agencies. The suspects might be part of a larger crime ring. Asheboro Police said that visitors to the YMCA had personal property and identifications stolen from vehicles Dec. 12. Windows were shattered on those vehicles. Police in Asheboro obtained a description of the vehicle with a Georgia license plate. That vehicle and suspects were spotted in Connecticut. Bossong golf tournament provides good times as YMCA fundraiser

ASHEBORO — The latest version of the Sam Bossong Golf Tournament was deemed another success. The 23rd annual version took place Friday at Pinewood Country Club. It’s one of four major fundraisers for the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA. “A lot of this money goes right back into our kids’ programs,” said Patrick O’Hara, executive director and CEO of the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA. “It has been a great fundraiser.” More than 100 golfers took part.
