ASHEBORO, NC –The annual Randolph-Asheboro YMCA fundraising gala, a night of dinner, dancing, auctions, and fundraisers, was held Friday night at Pinewood Country Club. This year’s theme was Kentucky Derby and included a musical chairs horse race in keeping with the theme. Several of the event’s sponsors took part in the race that featured locals holding stick horses as DJ Gary Hunt controlled the traditional musical chairs format. Labonte Foundation surprises youth with bikes

WINSTON-SALEM – The Bobby Labonte Foundation, founded by NASCAR Champion and Hall of Fame race car driver Bobby Labonte, teamed up with Herbalife Nutrition to build and donate 60 youth bikes at the YWCA of Winston-Salem recently as part of the foundation’s annual charitable efforts. The surprise giveaway, which benefited children enrolled at the YWCA’s Best Choice Learning Center, also included helmets and bike safety lessons provided by Brenner Children’s Hospital. Bossong Memorial golf tournament raises funds for YMCA

ASHEBORO — A rain-delay did not dampen the spirits of over 100 golfers who came out to support the local YMCA on Friday. Rain threatened the Sam Bossong Memorial Golf Tournament at Pinewood Country Club and the single-round tournament was stopped briefly for a thunderstorm but teams ultimately returned to the course to complete the 22nd iteration of the tournament.  This year’s winning team of Chad Clark, Shawn Hogan, Clint Smith and Mark Vuncannon shot a 49 which included five eagles on holes 3, 4, 6, 7 and 16.
