Randolph Community College to offer tours, financial aid guidance

ASHEBORO – Campus tours will be offered as part of information sessions to prepare Randolph Community College students for the start of the new school year. Next week’s session is slated for 4-7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Ave. in Asheboro. SANFORD – Randolph Community college president Dr. Shah Ardalan took part in last week’s ceremony at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford for a signing event for the AdvanceNC charter. Nine other community colleges are among the partners. Gov. Roy Cooper participated as well. The consortium recently applied for funding and designation of central North Carolina as an Economic Development Administration “Tech Hub.” If successful, the proposed project — known as the Central Carolina Cleantech Hub (C3H) — will strengthen the region’s capacity to manufacture, commercialize, and deploy critical clean energy technologies. Incoming RCC president put new jobs on radar

Shah Ardalan is RCC’s new president. ASHEBORO – Dr. Shah Ardalan has been looking for a new venture in education and he found it with Randolph Community College. He was named as the seventh president of the school earlier this month. Ardalan will come from Lone Star College-University Park in Houston. He has been president there since 2012. But RCC wasn’t his only potential destination. Ardalan has been a finalist for at least two other college presidencies the past several years, including a candidate for a similar position in Wisconsin this spring.
