15 schools designated as low-performing by state assessment

ASHEBORO — The Randolph County Board of Education met Monday, where they were presented with the state assessments for all the schools in the district, particularly the low-performing schools. The board was given an update on the procedures for the preliminary plans for improvement/school improvement plans for schools that were designated as low-performing by the recent state assessments. The Department of Public Instruction identified 15 schools within the district that are designated as low-performing schools. ASHEBORO — The City of Asheboro council met Thursday with a proposal for a new subdivision as well as updates on various parks on the agenda. Randolph County declares state of emergency as effects of Hurricane Ian begin

ASHEBORO — As wind and rain increased throughout the Triad region due to Hurricane Ian, Randolph County officials have declared a local state of emergency effective Friday at 1 pm. The State of Emergency is declared for all unincorporated areas of the County. The moves comes two days after Gov. Roy Cooper (D-N.C.) declared a state-level emergency in advance of the hurricane. Four Fire Districts officially restructured to remove fire tax cap
