ASHEBORO – The seventh annual holiday pie sale conducted by the Culinary Arts students at Southwestern Randolph High School is in the works.

The bakers are called the “Culinary Cougars.”

The deadline to order the pies is Friday. Pick-up or delivery will be Nov. 22.

The Culinary Cougars will bake six varieties of pie from scratch to raise money for culinary competitions. For this year’s sale, students will prepare pies in time for Thanksgiving meals.

Homemade pecan, sweet potato, pumpkin, Dutch apple crumb, chocolate chip walnut, and chocolate chip (nut free) will be available.

All pies are $10.

Part of the perks, according to organizers, is the easy-to-follow directions for thawing and reheating. The pies freeze and stay fresh for months, so you may purchase extra to use throughout the holiday season.
