The “winter heat” serves as an appetizer as sort of an exhibition card for the season to come. Beard claimed the 75-lap event from the pole position. Jason York was the Late Models champion, winning five times in points competition. The runner-up was Chase Murphy, who also landed Rookie of the Year honors for the class. Cam Thomas was third. Hirschman won for the third year in a row in the 125-lap Modifieds feature Saturday. He posted his ninth victory (five at Caraway, four at Concord Speedway) in the North-South Shootout, which has been held 21 times. SOPHIA – The season is winding down at Caraway Speedway and then last Saturday night’s card was called off because of concerns involving inclement weather. That could complicate matters as the track tries to get caught up. For instance, UCARs was set to have two features because of an earlier postponement involving that division.
