UCA’s Lorenzo Alston won his second state title by cruising at 150 pounds, while teammates Carson Robinson at 157 and Jaden Maness at 215 also nabbed championships. Trinity, UCA lead charge into wrestling states after strong regionals

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jack McArthur

Uwharrie Charter Academy, wrestling McArthur continues to rack up victories during his senior season on the mats. He has been a regular qualifier for the state tournament during his career with the Eagles. He has moved up to the middle weights, often competing at 138 pounds. UCA is coming off another big week in duals. First, there was a 72-6 victory against Eastern Randolph in the Piedmont Athletic Conference. Then in a two-day home dual-meet event, the Eagles defeated Cary 53-18, Greensboro Grimsley 47-18, New Bern 49-21, North Rowan 78-6, Northern Guilford 58-15, Pisgah 40-33 and Western Harnett 78-6. ‌
