NCHSAA adjusts postseason slates, delays football, soccer playoffs

Football and soccer state playoffs will be delayed for up to a week for North Carolina High School Athletic Association teams among a list of postseason adjustments announced Wednesday in the wake of Hurricane Helene causing upheaval for teams in the western part of the state. High school football games in Randolph County this week have been moved for a second time to try to find a window of good weather. Now, the games originally slated for Friday night are set for 6 p.m. Saturday (after a mid-week decision to play those Thursday night was scrapped because of more weather-related concerns).
