Demolition crews were working at the site of Franklinville United Methodist Church last week. (PJ Ward-Brown/North State Journal) FRANKLINVILLE – Members of the Franklinville United Methodist Church are saving what they can as the church is demolished following a wall collapse July 6. Emergency crews responded to the Franklinville United Methodist Church on South Main Street after a report of a commercial fire. ASHEBORO – The Taco Loco is back serving customers after the popular Mexican restaurant in downtown Asheboro was closed in various fashions for more than three months following a busted pipe. The Taco Logo should be operating with a complete menu Monday. “We’re excited to be opened back up,” restaurant manager Jackie Munoz said Saturday. Brooks Brannon’s rise to Class A baseball came with a bang. The 2022 draftee of the Boston Red Sox out of Randleman homered in two of his first three games and three of his first five games with Salem Red Sox of the Carolina League. Brannon, 19, played his first game in the Carolina League on June 29 when Salem played at Fredericksburg. TRINITY – Details are coming together for the first Trinity High School Athletics Hall of Fame, with the first induction class likely coming later this year. “Trinity has an extremely rich heritage,” athletics director Robert Mitchell said. “We’ve got years and years of great athletes and championships.
