ASHEBORO – Holiday activities will kick into gear in Asheboro just a couple of days after Thanksgiving. Mayor David Smith will light the city’s Christmas tree at 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown Asheboro. That will serve as the launch of weeks of holiday events in downtown. Compared to previous years, the lighting ceremony will be earlier on the calendar. Asheboro to study downtown parking, seeks public input

ASHEBORO -- Asheboro city officials are looking to better manage parking in downtown. The city has commissioned Walker Consultants to develop a study and strategic parking management plan for the business district. According to information from the city, the completed plan will provide recommendations for managing and improving public parking.
