Austin Lemons homered in Randleman’s 11-6 home victory against Uwharrie Charter Academy in the Piedmont Athletic Conference. Troy Carver homered for UCA. In the rematch, Lemons struck out 14 in a complete game as the Tigers won 5-0 on the road. Caleb Dunn supplied three hits and John Kirkpatrick drove in two runs. Prep Roundup: Tigers begin PAC baseball slate with shutouts

The Tigers posted two shutouts against Eastern Randolph, winning 9-0 at home in the first matchup and then two nights later prevailing 5-0 in Ramseur. Austin Lemons was the winner in the second meeting. The Tigers haven’t lost a conference game since 2019. Providence Grove and Southwestern Randolph split a pair of games to open their PAC schedules. Wheatmore, boys’ soccer Leister, a senior, was one of the most productive players for Wheatmore, which had an undefeated regular season. Leister racked up a team-high 19 assists this season. He was third on the Wheatmore team in goals with 16. Leister had two goals and an assist last week when the Warriors opened the Class 2-A state playoffs with a 5-2 victory against visiting Monroe. The Warriors (19-1-4) reached the second round before their season ended with a loss to Patton.

UCA | boys’ soccer Parroquin, a senior, has been among the top scorers for the Eagles, who entered the Class 1-A state playoffs this week. He capped the regular season by scoring three goals in Uwharrie Charter Academy’s 5-4 victory at Southwestern Randolph. That result avenged a four-goal loss from earlier in the season. UCA was one of seven teams in Randolph County to qualify for the state playoffs in boys’ soccer.

RANDLEMAN – Randleman served up a three-set sweep of Southwestern Randolph last week to hand the Cougars their first loss in Piedmont Athletic Conference volleyball. The Tigers used 17 digs and six kills from Haley Hinshaw, 23 assists and 14 digs from Kenzie Roach and 13 digs and 11 kills from Chloe Dixon. Karli Kennington supplied 29 digs.
