The North Carolina Zoo celebrates its new electric tractor with a ribbon cutting at an event celebrating National Drive Electric Week on Sept. 29 at the zoo in Asheboro. The event showcased how the zoo is using electric vehicles and attendees got to see and test electric cars, scooters, and more. Miss Randolph County earns top 16 spot at Miss NC

HIGH POINT — Miss Randolph County Tori Gross earned a Top 16 finish at the Miss North Carolina competition last week in High Point. Taylor Loyd, Miss Statesville, was the winner. Gross received two scholarship awards during the week of competition totaling $2,750. “My work as Miss Randolph County is not finished, and I cannot wait to finish out my year as I serve our great county,” said Gross after the competition. WINSTON-SALEM – The Bobby Labonte Foundation, founded by NASCAR Champion and Hall of Fame race car driver Bobby Labonte, teamed up with Herbalife Nutrition to build and donate 60 youth bikes at the YWCA of Winston-Salem recently as part of the foundation’s annual charitable efforts.
