Senior Autumn Gentry became Trinity’s all-time leading scorer. She scored 14 points against visiting East Davidson to reach the record. The previous record of 1,252 was held by Jordan Parker. Randleman’s Elizabeth York, a senior guard, eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career. Randleman, football/boys’ basketball The seasons changed for Randleman, but Christian Long keeps on producing. After helping guide the Tigers to a second-place finish in the Piedmont Athletic Conference football standings as the starting quarterback, Long turned his attention to basketball. In last week’s season-opening 71-54 victory at Lexington, Long racked up 17 points. He made three of four 3-point shots and went 4-for-4 on free throws. He also was charted with a team-high five steals. Sophomore Tyshaun Goldston, who was on the receiving end of some of Long’s passes during football season, paced the Tigers with 19 points in the…

The visiting Patriots topped McMichael 48-14 in the Class 2-A first round. Next, Providence Grove (8-3) aims for an even more monumental task by going to state power Reidsville, which is the No. 1 seed in the West Region, for a second-round game. RANDLEMAN – Randleman served up a three-set sweep of Southwestern Randolph last week to hand the Cougars their first loss in Piedmont Athletic Conference volleyball. The Tigers used 17 digs and six kills from Haley Hinshaw, 23 assists and 14 digs from Kenzie Roach and 13 digs and 11 kills from Chloe Dixon. Karli Kennington supplied 29 digs.
