There was lots to celebrate for the Southwestern Randolph softball team at the 2024 state finals. New league alignments within the NCHSAA begin by summer Randolph County schools will be spread out when it comes to conference affiliations based on an initial draft sent to schools from the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Schools can provide feedback on the drafts before those are finalized, likely in January. The new alignments, which are developed to be in place for four years, begin next summer. Uwharrie Charter Academy, boys’ basketball Lamb is a senior forward for the Eagles, who’ve started the season by winning 10 of their first 11 games. They’ve matched last season’s win total. When UCA began its Piedmont Athletic Conference schedule last week, Lamb tallied 24 points in a 59-47 victory against Providence Grove. That outcome pushed the team’s winning streak to three games. Asheboro might have new league partners, while UCA bumps up Schools in Randolph County will continue to be spread across three classifications in an upcoming realignment, but there’s a different makeup regarding the schools within the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. DENTON – The beginning of basketball season came with special results for Trinity’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams Friday night. The girls’ team ended a long losing streak, while the boys’ team embarked on a season with a new coach for the first time in more than three decades.
