SOPHIA – Gary Ledbetter had mixed results in Challengers features Saturday night at Caraway Speedway, where the track began a busy stretch of race nights. In the division’s first race, Ledbetter edged Brody Duggins in the 20-lap event, with Bryson Pickard placing third and Todd Garren in fourth. Dalton Ledbetter crossed the line first in the second feature, but that result was wiped out because of a technical infraction and so Duggins was declared the winner, while Gary Ledbetter was third, followed by Allen Vance and Pickard. SOPHIA – The next regular racing night at the track comes Saturday with the Grand National Super Series holding two 50-lap races. There also will be competition in regular divisions such as Challengers, 602 Mods, UCARs, Bootleggers and Mod 4s. Brody Duggins edged Dalton Ledbetter to win the Challengers feature in the David Saunders Memorial competition May 11 at Caraway Speedway. Duggins moved to the front by passing Brian Rose on the 18th lap and held on for less than a 1-second advantage on Ledbetter. (Courtesy photo) Controversy involved with feature in UCARs race SOPHIA – Landon Huffman won the Challengers race in the season-opening competition in the division Sunday at Caraway Speedway. He outdueled Daniel Schadt and Brody Duggins for the victory, which was accompanied with a $1,000 prize. There were 16 cars entered in the 40-lap race. Daniel Schadt was in the pole position following qualifying ahead of Huffman, Mathew Smith, Brody Duggins and Jeremy Clay. Duggins wins for first time at Caraway

SOPHIA – Brody Duggins won for the first time at Caraway Speedway by capturing the Challengers feature Saturday night. Duggins qualified for the pole position. He managed to move to the front after a redraw and hold on, with Allen Vance was second and Corey Rose placed third. In Late Models, Jason York of Reidsville won again despite his son, Jamie York, posting the fastest qualifying time.
