This is the third year of the current configuration of the PAC, with Eastern Randolph the two-time champion and unbeaten in 14 league games. Randleman, boys’ soccer Garcia has been among the leading scorers for the Tigers during their breakthrough season. The Tigers averaged five goals per game during three victories last week. Garcia scored in each of those games for a total of five goals for the week. Garcia is among a group of seniors who’ve helped Randleman rack up a 15-6 record through last week. Before this year, the Tigers had five consecutive seasons without a double-figure win total.

ASHEBORO – Preston Steele has had connections to Uwharrie Charter Academy boys’ basketball players and those are becoming stronger. Steele is the team’s new coach. RANDLEMAN – John Kirkpatrick threw five of his six touchdown passes in the first half as Randleman blew out visiting Providence Grove 42-14 on Friday night in a Piedmont Athletic Conference football game. Tyshaun Goldston made five of the touchdown catches. Those plays covered 50, 33, 34, 41 and 20 yards. Kirkpatrick threw for 218 yards, completing 13 of 22 passes. Wheatmore, boys’ soccer  Hemming turned in an incredible week by scoring seven goals across two games.  The sophomore midfielder scored three goals in a 5-3 loss to visiting Southwestern Randolph.
