PAC girls: Randleman rules again, captures tourney

RANDLEMAN – Randleman tightened its stronghold on Piedmont Athletic Conference girls’ basketball. The Tigers won the PAC Tournament for the third year in a row. Friday night’s home victory against second-seeded Southwestern Randolph came with Chenleigh Robinson tallying 19 points and Audra Petty providing 17 points. Southwestern Randolph (23-4) received 14 points from Jordin George and nine points from Macy Allred. The Cougars are 0-3 vs. Randleman this season. Randleman has gone three consecutive seasons without a loss in PAC competition. The Tigers won tournament finals the past two seasons by defeating UCA and Eastern Randolph in the championship games.…

Southwestern Randolph, girls’ basketball‌ George has been a productive contributor throughout the season for the Cougars, who are one of the area’s top teams in girls’ basketball. She’s a versatile sophomore. The Cougars won two games last week by defeating Eastern Randolph, with George scoring a team-high 15 points, and Wheatmore. That pushed the team’s record to 14-2. Last month, George was named Most Valuable Player of the SportsTone.net Invitational at Asheboro when the Cougars won three games on the way to the holiday tournament championship.

ASHEBORO – The Southwestern Randolph girls’ basketball team didn’t need big offensive numbers to win the SportsTone.net Christmas Invitational last week. The Cougars handled things with their defense. So the outcome was three victories in three days in the tournament at Asheboro High School. Prep basketball: PAC play begins with tight girls’ games

Southwestern Randolph, boys’ basketball It has been a challenging start to the season for Southwestern Randolph, but Robertson has given the Cougars chances in games. Last week, the senior had games of 24 points and 19 points. Still, the Cougars absorbed a pair of narrow home losses on consecutive nights to South Davidson (by 42-40) and East Davidson (by 55-52). Robertson is coming off football season when he was a receiver for the Cougars.
